| Winemaker's Notes: Named for the original 1896 plantings, our Old Patch Red has remained the all time favorite among legions of Trentadue fans for over three decades. Some of these vines are still producing today. Although the blend composition varies slightly with the vintages, the main idea of pre-Prohibition style of field blend based on Zin, Petite Sirah and Carignane remains the same. The Old Patch is a serious everyday wine with soft palate and loads of flavors. The predominance of Zin in the blend brings in jammy, peppery, black cherry and strawberry aromas with spicy herbal nuances. Further aeration reveals deeper and more complex layers of plums, brown sugar, graphite and earthy, dusty undertones. The mouth feel reveals no hard edges, with a juicy middle but shows a solid tannin core suggesting a good aging potential. |
The Wine Advocate: The 2004 Naia is a tank-fermented and aged Verdejo offering loads of honeysuckle, lemon zest, and orange rind characteristics in a crisp, medium-bodied, surprisingly textured yet elegant, fresh style. Enjoy it over the next 12-18 months. This modern-styled Spanish white should be sought out by consumers looking for light to medium-bodied, crisp, zesty whites. |
Rhein River Riesling is a clean, bright, flavorful, rich and balanced wine. With its simple and attractive package it reflects the light elegance of the wine in the bottle. An easy to remember label states exactly what the wine is about, it shows the typical characteristics of a Rhine valley wine with apricot and peach on the nose, fine fruit and excellent supporting acidity.
This is the perfect aperitif or a picnic wine and great company to light dishes.
An excellent value made for Rudi Wiest Selections by Fritz Hasselbach of Gunderloch.

Vega Sindoa Cabernet-Tempranillo, 2003
88 Points from the Wine Advocate
"It reveals a deep ruby/plum color and a sweet perfume of white chocolate, red and black currants, mocha, and earth. Medium-bodied, with supple tannin as well as abundant fruit." |
